Shiraz like this mean you care, gives reliable, satisfying drinking—no mucking around. No shopping, no wondering what to drink. Problem solved. The SHZ is the Biz.
From 25-year-old Shiraz vines planted on red clay over limestone, this estate-grown wine saw 25% whole bunch during wild fermentation in open vats. After 3 weeks on skins, it was basket pressed and matured for 20 months in French hogsheads (15% new). Brooding and powerful, with black plum, blood orange, paprika and a savoury, rustic core – classic Omensetter depth and spice.

The Review:
“Dense dark fruit perfume, also iron-rich from the get-go. Rosemary, lavender, orange peel, five spice, umami, molasses type of sweet-salty aroma. Palate hits all the flavour tones–sweet, salty, bitter, sour, and it all works, all melted together. Bresaola and smoked meats. Finishes on a strong cocoa powder, dark chocolate note. Tannins are fine and build the backbone for the fruit and spice to come forth. This is almost 15% alcohol but the fruit intensity is so deep, you can’t feel it. It’s all serious and seriously well made too.” –94pts, Kasia Sobesiak, The Wine Front
